Need to remove Google Chrome from your device? Follow these step-by-step instructions for your platform.
Uninstall Chrome on Windows
- Close all Chrome windows
- Open Settings (Windows key + I)
- Click Apps → Installed apps
- Search for “Google Chrome”
- Click the three dots (⋮) next to Chrome
- Select Uninstall
- Follow the prompts to complete removal
Tip: Check “Also delete your browsing data” if you want to remove bookmarks, history, and passwords.
Uninstall Chrome on Mac
- Quit Chrome completely (Cmd + Q)
- Open Finder
- Go to Applications
- Find Google Chrome
- Drag it to the Trash (or right-click → Move to Trash)
- Empty the Trash
Remove user data (optional): Delete ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome to remove all browsing data.

Debian/Ubuntu
sudo apt remove google-chrome-stable
Fedora/RHEL
sudo dnf remove google-chrome-stable
Uninstall Chrome on Android
Chrome is pre-installed on most Android devices and cannot be fully uninstalled. However, you can disable it:
- Open Settings
- Tap Apps → Chrome
- Tap Disable
- Confirm by tapping Disable app
This removes Chrome from your app drawer and prevents it from running.
Uninstall Chrome on iPhone/iPad
- Find Chrome on your home screen
- Long-press the Chrome icon
- Tap Remove App
- Tap Delete App to confirm
