For a full-page screenshot in one click, GoFullPage is the simplest Chrome extension. If you also want to annotate, blur or share a link, pick Awesome Screen Recorder & Screenshot. To save pages as PDF files with working links, use FireShot. All three were live in the Chrome Web Store when we checked, carry the store’s badge for following Google’s recommended practices, and are described below using what their own listings say.

GoFullPage: full-page capture, nothing else
GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture does one job. Click its toolbar icon or press Alt + Shift + P, and it scrolls through the page, stitches the parts together and opens the result in a new tab.
- Save as PNG, JPEG or PDF, or drag the image to your desktop.
- Handles scrollable areas inside a page and embedded frames.
- Very large pages are split into several images instead of failing.
- The listing says it asks for no extra permissions. Cropping and annotation are in a separate premium editor.
Best for: anyone who just wants the whole page as one picture.
Awesome Screen Recorder & Screenshot: capture, mark up and share
Awesome Screen Recorder & Screenshot (often called Awesome Screenshot) combines a screenshot tool with a screen recorder.
- Capture a full page, a selected area or the visible part, plus your entire screen or one app window, with an optional delay.
- Crop, resize, annotate, highlight and blur sensitive information.
- Save as PNG, JPG or PDF, or save to an Awesome Screenshot account to get a shareable link. It can also send captures to Jira, Slack, Trello, Asana and GitHub.
- Records the desktop, the current tab or your camera.
Best for: bug reports, how-to guides and anything you need to mark up before sending.
FireShot: save web pages as PDF or images
FireShot (Take Webpage Screenshots Entirely) is built for keeping a record of a page.
- Capture the entire page, the visible part or a selection.
- Save to PDF (with links), PNG or JPEG, copy to the clipboard, print, or attach to Gmail.
- Can capture all open tabs at once, or a list of web addresses in a batch.
- The listing says captures are made and stored on your computer and that it works offline.
- Editing (crop, arrows, text, blur), capturing specific scrolling areas and some other features need the upgrade.
Best for: receipts, order confirmations, articles and research you want to keep as a file.
If you need video, not screenshots
For recording your screen, look at Screenity (open source, and no sign-in needed according to its listing), Loom or Screencastify. Each one, and the recorder already built into Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Android and iPhone, is covered in How to record your screen in Chrome.
How to choose and install
- Only want a picture of the whole page: GoFullPage, or Chrome’s built-in tool with no install at all.
- Need to blur or annotate and share a link: Awesome Screen Recorder & Screenshot.
- Need a PDF or a batch of pages: FireShot.
To install, open the extension’s Web Store page and click Add to Chrome. A screenshot extension can see the pages you capture, so install one, not several. On a phone, use the phone’s own screenshot buttons: see How to take a screenshot in Chrome.
